Chewy Coffee Brownies

I've been trying to think of something new to do than to just randomly post my recipes as I make them. Since I don't make that many desserts (I know it may seem like I do, but I really don't), I've decided to wait only post them on Thursdays, making it Tasty Treats! I hope you'll come back every Thursday to see what I have in store for ya!

This Thursdays Tasty Treat is a Chewy Coffee Brownies.

I cheated on this one, I used a box mix Please don't hold that against me I promise you won't be disappointed!

I was rummaging through my pantry a few days ago when I stumbled upon a box of chewy fudge brownie mix. I honestly can't remember when I bought. The date on was still good though so I decided to do a little experiment.

I'm sure some of you (like my little sister, if you're reading this) have probably tried something like this or heard of something like this. Coffee is a MUST in this house and sometimes my husband doesn't drink all of it before he goes to work. Having just enough left to replace the water (plus a little more) the box calls for , I decided to do it! But why stop there? Let's replace the 1/2 cup of oil with butter!

I've heard that coffee enhances the flavor of the chocolate, so why would I want to give this a whirl? I'm so glad I did!

Ingredients
  • 1 box chewy fudge brownie mix (you can make it from scratch if you prefer)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup strong coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter melted, cooled
Mix all ingredients together. Pour in to a greased 8"x8" baking pan. Bake at 350 for 40 to 45 minutes.

HAPPY EATS! :)

I want to try this cause I have coffee saved up. but I don't have brownie mix and I don't know how to 'make it myself' then make it into your coffee brownies when I already 'made my own'. Ya know?

Next time I get a box, I'm doing this!
