Carmel Apple Bread Pudding

Who doesn't love a good slice of bread pudding? This recipe just sounded too delicious not to make & it was beyond delicious!! With the little bits of apple here and there and the carmel on top, it was almost like eating a candy apple with gooey goodness all around it!

Granny's Beef Veggie Soup

My husband requested this a few weeks ago and I couldn't deny it to him. I did do it different, since she did it on the stove in a pot, I just tossed all of mine in a crock pot. It is very delicious. I got the recipe from his mother, since his Granny has since passed. All it was meat, potatoes, veggies, and tomato juice. He didn't know that I doctored it up some since it seemed a little too dull for me. He said it tasted just like Granny's so I did something right!!

Baked Mac & Cheese

I found a recipe similar to this on Just-A-Pinch. This is my revamped version of it & is so good. I love the bread crumbs so mine has quite a bit more on it. This is so rich and so cheesy! This was all I had for dinner tonight!

Peanut Butter Oats & Chocolate Chip Cookies

My brother-in-law lived w/ us a few years back and one day he brought home these cookies from a friends house. I tried one and ended up eating all of them before he got any! I wanted the recipe but never got it. Come to find out one of my friends worked at the school w/ the woman who made these and I BEGGED her to get the recipe for me! I had forgotten that I had it till now when I was flipping through a cooking magazine and saw some oatmeal cookies. I rummaged through my little pieces of paper and found it. I realized I had everything on hand, so here they are. Now I'm trying to stop myself from eating all of them!

Hashbrown Potato Casserole

This is an other one of the Mother-In-Laws recipes. Her boys wanted this for Thanksgiving and I was the one who got stuck making it! lol It is VERY good, you'll want more than seconds!

Cranberry Relish

This is another one of my mother-in-laws recipes. I was craving this so bad a few months after I first had it, but had no clue what it was since she only makes it for the holidays. I now have the recipe and it has become a part of our holidays as well!

Chicken Noodle Soup

MMMMMM...was this a big hit, even our 8 month old had some (of course it was pureed) and liked it! It's thick but not too thick, but not thin like the canned kind. Full of chicken flavor! Very warming and comforting!

Lazy Lasagna

I love this simple dish. It may not look like regular lasagna, but it taste just as great! I add in some hamburger since I don't think it's complete w/o it, however you can leave it out if you like. I double this so I can have lots of left overs. I actually think it is much better the second day!

Twice Baked Mashed Potatoes

This was the winner of last weeks poll and I was really excited to try it! I LOVE mashed potatoes they always have a comfort feeling for me. These are LOADED w/ flavor! I don't think I'll ever make boring regular mashed taters again! However, I don't think I made enough potatoes, once I added in the sour cream they became almost soupy. I would recommend adding the sour cream in a little at a time to make sure it doesn't get this way. Even soupy looking they tasted amazing!

Blueberry Upside Down Cake

This was you, the viewers request on my poll last week. I found this recipe in a Taste of Home magazine. It made the whole house smell like a blueberry muffin to me or a blueberry pancake if you ask my husband! It is amazingly good! I made sure I loaded the pan w/ as many blueberries as I could since I LOVE cooked blueberries. Great summer time treat!

Pumpkin Muffins

This is one of my mom's recipes. I don't know where she got it, but everyone always raves about these! I just made them for a bake sale for a benefit this weekend. These are sooooo simple to make & it's hard not to eat the batter when making these!

Peanut butter banana chocolate chip cookies

I am still in the process of making these at this moment. I had to do something to get me out of the kitchen so I would stop eating them! They are too good! I don't even remember where I found this recipe, I just wrote it down. These are for sure a keeper!

S'mores Cookies

This was requested from a viewer. I'm not too crazy on s'mores, but thought this was interesting. They do taste just like a s'mores to me! I think they would be better in the spring or summer opposed to now in the fall/winter. But if you are in the mood for a s'mores this is what you want!!!

Gone-All-Day Stew

This was found in Taste-of-Home magizine I bought a little while ago. As I was thumbing through it while sitting next to my husband, he pointed out that it looked good.Once again something new I didn't really care for, but my husband liked. Wasn't bad, just didn't WOW me.

Chicken Alfredo

This is nothing special, just something new I picked up at the store one day when I wanted something new but didn't have a recipe for. It's very simple and delicious. Naturally my husband loves this so I haven't messed w/ changing it...yet!

Chicken & Dumplings

I've been making this so long I don't even remember where I found the recipe. When someone new tries it they always say it is the best Chicken and dumplings they have ever had! I actually just packed an extra for my husband to take to a co-worker tomorrow at work since he likes it so much!

Ingredients
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (I actually put them in half frozen still)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 32 oz chicken broth
  • 2 (10 oz) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 2 cans of mixed veggies, drained

Place the chicken, butter, soup, & veggies (drained) in a slow cooker. Fill with enough chicken broth to cover everything. Cover, and cook for 5 to 6 hours on High. (My slower cooker is newer so I cook it on low for this amount of time. You may have to adjust time for your slow cooker)

About 2 hours before serving, tear/cut chicken & place the torn biscuit dough in the slow cooker (I flatten the biscuit  out and just start randomly tearing and dropping it in). Push dough under liquid. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center. (I stir it through out the 2 hours to break up the dough, it tends to all stick together at the top if you don't.)

HAPPY EATS! :)

Peanut Butter Super Brownies

My husband and I LOVE peanut butter and thought it would be interesting to try the Super Brownies as peanut butter instead of chocolate, but still have the chocolate chips inside them. They weren't what I expected, but they are good. Naturally the husband loves them! lol They just didn't have enough peanut butter flavor for my liking.

Super Brownies

I found this in one of my cookbooks. These are by far the best brownies I have ever had! They would go over great at bake sale or something of that mater. Next time I try this I am going to use either butterscotch or peanut butter chips as the base and add in the semi sweet chocolates.

Hoagie Bake

I ran across this on Just A Pinch. It is good, my husband LOVES it. However, it wasn't what I was expecting, I do like it better when it's dipped in pizza sauce.

Black Magic Cake

I found this on Just A Pinch. The cake is AMAZING, the frosting however I don't care for (but I've never really cared for homemade frosting). The second time I made it I put store bought frosting on it and the cake was SOOO much better. But to each his or her own.

Garlic Beef Enchiladas

I passed this recipe over and over before I finally decided to go w/ it one day. What I like about them is that you can make them as spicy as you want or not so much.

Mandarin Orange Cake

Who doesn't love a recipe of their Grandmothers?
This just happens to be my husbands favorite cake.
I don't know about your Grandma, but mine ways always cooking something.
She just happened the have the last bit of this cake one day while we were over,
and asked us if we wanted it as we were getting ready to leave.
We took it home and devoured the whole thing in one sitting.
My husband could not get over how good it was and
I couldn't get over how light and flavourful it was.

Grandma's Bread Pudding

This has to be my favorite recipe, my Grandma Class' bread pudding. So simple and easy to make anyone can do it. I enjoy this so much more after it has chilled in the fridge overnight.
