Peanut Butter Super Brownies

My husband and I LOVE peanut butter and thought it would be interesting to try the Super Brownies as peanut butter instead of chocolate, but still have the chocolate chips inside them. They weren't what I expected, but they are good. Naturally the husband loves them! lol They just didn't have enough peanut butter flavor for my liking.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c. butter, cubed
  • 2 c. peanut butter chips
  • 1 c. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 4 eggs5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 c. coarsely chopped macadamia nuts or pecans, divided (I left these out)
In a saucepan, melt butter & sugar over medium heat. Remove from the heat; stir in 2 cups peanut butter chips until melted. Transfer to a mixing bowl; beat in water. Add egs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla.

Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; beat into the chocolate mixture until smooth. Stir in 2 cups of chocolate chips and 1 cup of nuts (if using). Pour into a greased 13"x9"x2" baking pan.

Bake at 325 for 50 minutes or until the center is set (do not overbake).
