Farmer Brown

Any one that doesn't live in Southern Indiana doesn't seem to know what Farmer Brown is. It's really nothing special, just hamburger, mashed taters and cheese. Like me, the majority of people around here probably first had this in school. When I was in school I didn't care for this. I never made it till I got with my husband in 2007 and who would of guess that I now like it.

I've seen and heard of people layering it w/ peas and corn as well. We prefer it this way though.

Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 lbs of ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 7-8 medium potatoes, mashed
  • Velveeta

In a large skillet brown beef with onion until no longer pink; drain. Pour beef, and mashed potatoes in a 2 qt baking dish. Cover top with Velveeta. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted.

HAPPY EATS! :)
